Viola da gamba player Tess Roberts has been exploring historically informed performance since age 11, and continues to enjoy sharing the creative and playful nature of early musical styles with audiences and students. Recently, she has appeared in performance with the Whidbey Island Music Festival, Pacific Musicworks, the American Bach Soloists Academy, and others. She teaches privately for all ages, has coached ensembles at the University of California Davis and the University of Washington, and teaches regularly with Seattle Historical Arts for Kids. She holds a bachelor's degree in Ethnomusicology and is starting postgraduate studies in viola da gamba at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Outside of music, Tess enjoys hiking and spending time with her rescue horse Sweet Pea.
